A recap of the season.

5v5 Non-Contact Flag OWIFA Fall Championship
Honourable Mention: Carleton University
Huge congratulations to Carleton University on not only completing their first ever OWIFA season but climbing the ranks to win the 5v5 Tier B Championship title!
Starting out the season ranked 4th in Tier B, there were high hopes for Carleton to perform well and move up into that top spot. However, after struggling in the first Qualifer, Carleton was ranked as the second lowest team in the league heading into Qualifier #2.
Now, on a mission to prove that they were the ones to beat, they steadily rose in the ranks, upsetting one team after the next, until finally claiming that Tier B Championship title!
Congratulations Carleton!

5v5 Non-Contact Flag OWIFA Fall Championship
University of Toronto
Since OWIFA included the 5v5 style in 2022, the University of Toronto (UofT) has always had an extremely strong performance but has never been able to quite clinch that top spot, and secure our coveted gold medals.
That all changed during the Fall 2024 season.
Not only did UofT claim their first ever 5v5 Tier A Championship title, they did so in a completely dominant fashion— going undefeated with a perfect 12-0 record 🤯
Congratulations UofT!

For the third year in a row the 5v5 Provincial Championship final would be between the UofT Varsity Blues and the Western Mustangs. After both securing their semi final wins and spot at nationals with ease, Western put up a dominant performance in the first half leading 19-6. But, Toronto came back strong in the second half to give themselves a chance to win in the dying minutes of the game.
However, the Mustangs defence came through and held their own, allowing Western to claim the Provincial title and 5v5 three-peat with a final score of 25-20!

11V11 Contact Flag OWIFA Championship
Western University
It all came down to the last 5 plays of the game when with 3 plays left, 2-time league MVP, Emma Valentine threw the TD pass to give the Mustangs their first lead in the game. With 1 play left, Queen’s put the game in the hands of their dual quarterback, kicker, and 2023 Offensive Player of the Year, Izzi Shih, to go for the game winning field goal.
Ultimately, the 42 yard attempt was just slightly too long for the powerhouse kicker and the Mustangs secured their third championship winning 21-20.
